Electricity generators have opposed the Turnbull government’s decision to delay the introduction of clean energy targets, saying that the targets will instigate new investments that will reduce power bills for consumers.

Earlier this year, discussions have been had around the issue of rising power prices. A deal was struck in August that would see millions of Australian consumers being notified of the date that their discounted electricity plans would expire, saving households over $1,000 per year, along with a number of other consumer protection measures.
